Thomas Hackensellner studied food technology at the Technical University of Munich in Freising-Weihenstephan from 1982 to 1987. In 1990 he successfully completed his doctorate at the Technical University of Munich on the subject of "The development of a high-temperature heat pump with a liquid ring compressor and the working medium water". From 1989 to 1995 he was a scientific assistant at the chair for energy and environmental technology in the food industry in Freising-Weihenstephan. From 1990 onwards, Thomas Hackensellner completed his habilitation on the subject of “Energy-related studies on the use of heat pumps in the food and beverage industry”. The habilitation process was successfully completed in 1997. In the same year he received the license to teach the subject “Energy Technology” at the Technical University of Munich. In 1998 he switched to the industry at Hrch. Huppmann GmbH to Kitzingen. As head of energy and process engineering, he dimensioned components for brewery brewhouses there. In 2004 he was appointed adjunct professor at the Technical University of Munich. Thomas Hackensellner has been with Glen Dimplex Deutschland GmbH in Kulmbach as Head of Patents and Technical Regulations since 2005. At the same time, he teaches at the Technical University of Munich in the subjects of “brewery systems” and “energy monitoring”.
