Virtual Problem Solver – Digital Twin

If the heating is not working and feet are cold then not only are customers really displeased, so too is the manufacturer, as it often means elaborate troubleshooting throughout the entire manufacturing process. Yet malfunctions or faults like these could soon be a thing of the past. Glen Dimplex Deutschland is currently involved in a consortium project on the development of a digital twin: the virtual copy of a real heat pump, which allows the performance of a system to be simulated, monitored, optimised and then, when everything is working fine, transferred to the real system. The entire life cycle of a heat pump is therefore thought through in advance. Potential errors in the mode of operation are identified before malfunctions can occur. At the same time, a lot of time and money can be saved and energy and emissions reduced. This is of course entirely in line with our GDD corporate value “We think customer”.
